A Resort at Longboat Key Club wedding might be ideal if you are looking for a resort with multiple venues and locations. Alyssa & Jimmy chose it for their Longboat Key wedding and it turned out beautiful!
As is our custom, Brian and I arrived at The Resort at Longboat Key Club early to scope out the scene. Boy we were glad we did as the grounds are spacious! So spacious that the ceremony site and reception site required a drive to get from one place to the other. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with a map and easy to follow directions so we could find our way without issue. As a matter of fact, ALL the staff at the Resort at Longboat Key Club were ready to help and direct when needed. This made the day run smoothly and stress-free.
We started our wedding photography coverage with Alyssa and her girls as they got ready for the big day. Everyone had custom signs which made for some cute and fun photographs. Alyssa looked radiant in her gown and tears were shed when her thoughtful parent's gifts were shared. Jimmy really out did himself, raining gift after gift upon his bride to be. Everyone was all smiles as they prepared themselves for the beach ceremony. Jimmy and his groomsmen were looking very dapper as they did their part in getting ready. Soft grey suits were a perfect choice for an elegant beach wedding.
A short walk to the beach and it was time for the ceremony. Love was in the air, quite literally as it was the beginning of love bug season. They are completely harmless but a bit annoying. Luckily the breeze picked up a bit and blew them back away from the beach. The ceremony itself was tender and personal as Alyssa's father performed it for them. After the "I dos" we took our time to capture formal family portraits, bridal party and then finished it all up with romantic ocean side portraits of the newlyweds.
A quick drive later and we arrived at the Resort at Longboat Key Club's elegant ballroom for the reception. A columned entry led to a foyer with plenty of room for tables of place cards, guest gifts, and whatever extra needs you might have. This opened up into the grand main room that looked even more dressed up with white drapery, decorated seating on either side of the dance floor, and the head table as the center focal point. The left side of the room was lined with windows and glass doors that led to a covered patio and further out to a green lawn. This made for a great cocktail hour area. After introductions and first dances the couple, their family and guests enjoyed a sit down dinner.
Then it was time for fun and dancing and plenty of both was had by all! The night ended with a grand send off with a lighted balloon release. We wish Alyssa and Jimmy a life filled day by day with as much joy as their wedding night! Enjoy their sneak peek.
